Place Reiki - Reiki for your world

Have you noticed how sometimes a room can feel uncomfortable or heavy? Maybe it is only upon leaving you have noticed how much lighter you feel.

Sometimes, the energies of a room, building or land can become stagnant. This can occur after life changes, conflicts, illness, or long-term neglect.

When a place is out of balance it might feel or be experienced as:

  • A dull, muted atmosphere that saps joy, creativity, or momentum and fosters procrastination.

  • A dense, oppressive feeling: rooms feel cramped, hard to breathe in, or emotionally draining; you feel on edge.

  • Repeating negative patterns: frequent arguments or low mood.

  • A lack of flow: movement through the space feels obstructed; doors, pathways, or routines seem “blocked.”

  • Insomnia or unusual dreams.

  • A sense that people are crossing your boundaries or are “in your space.”

Reiki can be practiced in connection with spaces. This could be your home, the land, your office or even a situation. When applied to the land, building or space, it can address layers of collective memory, emotional imprints, or environmental stressors. It aims to ensure the energies are flowing freely. The space is cleansed, harmonising how inhabitants interact with the space.

Reiki can also be applied when you want to deepen your connection to a garden, home, or landscape and invite greater harmony and support into your daily life.

Once a space has had Reiki, inhabitants may start to notice subtle changes, like improved sleep, calmer family or team dynamics, and clearer decision-making.

Example 1 - Room Reiki for Interview Day

Many years ago I was working as an Office Manager in an old NHS building. It was a part of the original hospital, so it had many uses over the years and many layers of history. While I worked there, the building was being used by the local mental health trust. It had the big iron radiators you would often see in old schools and big windows that weren't double glazed.

My boss had booked a day for interviews. She was dreading the process. She felt empathy towards the candidates and always found it hard to make a selection as she often liked them all. As a part of my setting up the room, I applied Reiki to it, cleansing the corners and furniture of any stagnant energies. I intended for it to keep a calm, clear space, for the best outcome possible for all those involved.

What I did not expect was the reaction of my boss. I had not told her I had done it. At the end of the day she came out of the room beaming and exclaiming, “Oh my gosh, that is the best day of interviews I have ever had!”

Example 2 - Reiki for the boundaries

I was invited to visit a horse I had been working with that had moved into a shared, open livery with three other horses. He has settled in well. The land is complex —rented and sub-let and on its borders are vehicle tracks, a drop to residential land, a quarry, a bridleway, wind turbines and power cables. There are also a number of large oak trees.

On arrival I sensed a distinct energetic line crossing the premises. The main tenant, who is open to energetic work, confirmed she had intended an energetic border there. However, the area her and the horses were most weary of, was at the back of the field.

I facilitated a session to cleanse the land and strengthen its energetic borders on all sides. While I worked, four red kites appeared. Afterwards, the horse owners all felt a clear difference in the fields’ atmosphere and noted how relaxed the horses were. And the horse I’d intended to give Reiki too, was happy not to receive much of a Reiki session that day.

Since then, all four horses are happy with visiting that back corner. It had seemed as though a new area to be avoided had developed, but it has transpired that an old deer has taken residence there. The owner feels it recognises it as a safe space.
